17. 11. 2011 - Do you suffer from flatus or obstruction flatus?

Release of the intestinal gases is a natural sign accompanying digestion. Adult humans produce from 500 ml to 2500 ml of gases per day. They include nitrogen, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, methane and oxygen. In case of malabsorption and consumption of inappropriate food not only the production of gases increases, but also their odour shows evidence of presence sulphur compounds or amines.  The released gases are commonly odourless and their passage through the digestive tract may not be painful. However intake of inappropriate and difficult to digest food,  poor lifestyle and stress could contribute to extreme gassiness and flatulence.simetikon_kopie_400

Experts for nutrition constantly recommend including fresh fruit and vegetables in the healthy nutrition. Healthy nutrition includes also legumes. They are tasty and nutritious, but they also have less pleasant quality – some polysaccharides contained in them (raffinose etc.) are fermented by anaerobic bacteria present in the large intestine and this process is accompanied by the release of an increased amount of gases, which can cause abdominal pain and flatulence.

Flatulence (gassiness) is manifested by extreme gassiness in the digestive tract and it is usually connected with difficulties when leaving the digestive tract.

The use of simeticone could be the solution. It will help your intestines. It will reduce your moodiness caused by gassiness and flatulence and the unpleasant feelings in your abdomen.

Simeticone  is used to reduce flatulence and excessive gassiness. It also relieves  pain and modifies the uncomfortable feeling caused by the excess of gas in the stomach and intestines.

Simeticone is polydimethylsiloxane activated by silica dioxide. Its method of action in the digestive tract is purely physical base. Simeticone itself does not influence the amount of gases formed in the chyme. It reduces the surface tension and enables clustering of the small gas bubbles to form larger bubbles, which then pass through the digestive tract more easily and make the evacuation of gases from the body smoother. Excessive gases present in the intestines may also cause pain. In this case simeticone can help the patient reduce suffering.

Some individuals suffer from extreme frothiness in their stomach and intestines during digestion. This results in flatulence and increased gassiness. As an antifoaming agent acting in the intestines we use polydimethylsiloxane activated by silica gel (formed from two to three thousand dimethylsiloxane units). Such a product cannot be absorbed through the mucous membranes of the digestive tract into the blood stream. It is not toxic and its use is absolutely safe. Simethicone has no noted  side effects.
